Hello, I'm fifteen, and will be studying physics and US history this coming school year. A friend from school showed me the site and I thought it was pretty cool, but I forgot about until a few days ago and decided to try my hand at joining. I'm exultant that I was accepted and can't wait to bring what I can to The Foundation. I haven't read all the SCP articles, but I really like SCP-73 and SCP-990. I am certainly not the smartest person on here, and I bow before those that are well-educated in their fields. Thanks again!
Namaste! Welcome to the club. Number one suggestion: lurk, lurk and lurk some more, learn the ins and outs of the place before popping stuff up. It'll save a lot of heartache, hopefully. Number two suggestion: come by the IRC chat and hang out for a while. I'd do it more often myself but I can't access it from work any more and I have little free time at home :(
For some reason the IRC chat doesn't work, i tried the mebbit thing as well but it sent me to a BLIZZARD chat?
Also, I forgot to mention in my post (though I suppose it doesn't matter), I have a fear of taxis at night. Not getting in them, just the cars themselves.
As far as Mebbit goes, it's a bit quirky; make sure you not only have everything set up correctly as it says in the side-bar, but also that you register your name on their server, and log in using the password you set up.
If you're doing all that and it still doesn't work… At least you're not the only one?
