I don't understand why they're flipping out over 343 chatting with 105, I get that they consider him a powerful reality bender but there's never really been much fear around him interacting with SCPs. Not to mention that the SCP he interacted with is a pretty small threat even if she had the assistance of 343.
I liked it but I just didn't get why people were acting the way they do.
Because 343 can't perceive or interact with other SCPs. Or at least, he was never able to before Iris' last attempt to off herself. So when all of a sudden he does start interacting with another SCP, that's worrisome. It represents a fundamental change in 343's nature, plus we now have cross-contamination.

So far he's only interacted with a suicidal woman and even then the extent of his interaction was a pleasant chat. The guy accepts containment and hasn't been hostile to the Foundation nor has he taken any aggressive actions. I can see why it would be a little troubling/interesting if he could interact with a singular suicidal human SCP but they don't respond with curiosity, rather they outright plan to terminate him.
This is a being that is mostly beneficial to staff, remains neutral to the Foundation, and may/may not be God. Is 343 suddenly an all new dangerous threat because he talked to 105?
It isn't like 343 drenched himself in blood and started wearing the skin of scientists as trophies, he's still the nice old gentleman from Prague that likes hamburgers.
Presumably an actual security official would act to prevent the skin-as-clothing phase. And the Builder Bear offers a good example of why they don't trust the safes any more than the keters…

This series depends on my own interpretation of 343 and the Foundation's reaction to him, so if the events depicted don't make a lot of sense, then I can totally understand it and chalk it up to a lack of execution on my part.
If it helps any, one of the things that struck me about 343 is the fact that they let staff hang out with him, and he basically roams around at will. This never made any sense to me; he's an extremely powerful SCP, and I always thought the Foundation would consider him a threat. Then I thought, "what if they're making a show of this extremely loose containment for some reason?"
In my headcanon, the Foundation has been reluctant to make a move against a fundamentally uncontainable phenomenon that could do immense damage because a) they don't know what will happen, and b) nothing bad seemed to happening while 343 was basically a jovial curiosity. Which is what he basically was since he apparently can't interact with other SCPs (an element that I liked in other 343 tales and therefore stole borrowed).
Now, we have confirmation that SCP-343 can interact with other SCPs. Worse, that SCP is 105, whom the Foundation (in my humble headcanon) has pegged as a reality bender with self-imposed constraints and unawareness of her ability. The Foundation mistrusts the hell out of this dude who willingly hangs around in a Site and who they have limited control over, and now he has the potential to do some really bad stuff if he wants to. They can't take the chance of letting the situation continue any longer. Thus they've been forced to move.
P.S. They're right to mistrust 343.
I get what you're going for but it just doesn't work for me, it still feels like the Foundation is overreacting to the situation but I will wait to see how the events unfold fully before I make a final decision on it. Maybe in the next chapter we could see why they're acting like this and it might make sense, but until then it feels off.
Fair enough. I admit that my interpretation of these SCPs is very different from what I imagine the authors intended and how they've been portrayed previously. Hopefully, the next chapter will go a long way to addressing what you're talking about. In any event, I appreciate the input.
The only SCP that 343 hasn't been able to interact with is 682. He interacts with Bright all the time apparently.
While the author's stated on chat that they're probably not going to continue this tale series, damn if this isn't a great tale. Up the boat with thee.
