Hey guys, what's up?
For a couple of days now, I've been working on a little text adventure game about the Foundation, using the Quest engine (basically, Quest : regular text adventure coding :: MS Word : BBCode). It's more of an experiment than anything - I am by no means trying to make the next SCP: Containment Breach or SCP-087-B.
Anyway, the game is in Beta A.00 at the moment, the very first build, encompassing the very first area.
Currently…
- You can only get out of the first area (Cell Block D-5) before the game ends.
- Your health is shown, but nothing can hurt you and you cannot die. This will not be the case in future updates.
- Your score is shown, but it only changes to +10 once you exit the area. In future updates, your score will increase according to game progress so you can easily tell how far you've gotten.
- The game has no endings other than the one that you get when you complete the first area. This will change in future updates; 'bad' endings will be possible to obtain.
- The game is linear, currently having only five "rooms" that can't really be approached more than one way. This will change in the future; think of Cell Block D-5 as a tutorial zone.
- For extra fun, try and…
- Obtain a toothbrush and toothpaste
- Obtain a bottle of water
- Find out what month it is
- Find all five "_ myself" commands
- None of these are essential to progress. However, I do have some plans for the useless objects, just to reward people who like to go around and examine or use everything. (Example: running the water bottle through SCP-914 on Very Fine will create a bottle of antimatter (or something), which causes a game over (or something) when you open it.)
