I was inspired the other day to write up this SCP and wanted to run it by the community to see if it had any potential:
Not horrible, although you'd need a little bit explaining how these critters can do isotopic separation.
Something about analysis of their genome would not be unwelcome either. Whether there's any sort of ecological advantage to this behavior is beside the point, since that's what "anomalous" means, but do the critters who built a given nuke survive its detonation?
I'll certainly check if I can come up with a way to plausibly explain isotopic separation.
In my head they don't survive the nuclear detonation, they can however survive in proximity to masses of U-235.
EDIT: Isotopic separation now plausibly explained (hopefully).
I loved it. Micro-organisms that instinctively build nuclear weapons. It's very well written. My only concerns are they use uranium/nuclear fission, yet the process described is nuclear fusion? And how do they reproduce? Are they asexual? Do they multiply like bacteria?
And "at the point the two Uranium masses will collide and by the assembly of a trigger mechanism."
This sentence seems grammatically incorrect. "at the point" seems unnecessary and improper, and "as a result of the trigger mechanism." is also unnecessary.
Also, I'd recommend cropping/editing the photo so it looks less familiar.
Other than that, great SCP, I'd upvote it.
First of all thanks for the feedback!
Where did you get the impression it was fusion? I can rewrite that part.
I rewrote the part with the grammatical error you mentioned.
I'll take into mind your suggestion regarding the picture, might crop it a bit in the final version or change it if I find a better one.
