I'm C.B., and I'm what you could call very, very new to the sight. I just wanted to share my experiences from my first week as a member. Maybe someone else who's new to the site has had some that are similar.
I THOUGHT I WAS HUMBLE
Turns out I have an ego, just like most people. I wanted to join because I had some neat ideas for SCP's. I figured my first couple of passes would need some work, but I figured I had it in the bag. I got my ass handed to me.
THICK SKIN IS A PLUS
Criticism has been constructive, but not exactly kind. Not unkind, mind you. Just blunt. I wasn't expecting to be babysat, but it through me for a loop.
THE STAFF HAVE THE PATIENCE OF BUDDHIST MONKS
I applied 6 times. I'd done the required reading, but I hadn't ABSORBED the required reading, if you get my meaning? Gears should have reached through my monitor and choked the life from me.
I THINK I'M GOING TO LIKE IT HERE
This first week has been a bit of a bootcamp for me. Before, when I was just reading the SCP's, I was nerding out over how cool and interesting I thought they were. I'm still doing that, but it's more…analytical? Maybe I'm saying it wrong.
That's me on this site this week. If this is the wrong place to be posting this, I'm sorry. It's not much of an introduction, more of a rembling, really. But I really wanted to get it out there. I look forward to meeting, chatting, working or what have you with everyone here.
