Sorry if it's been done before, but I can't download any client for IRC right now and I suspect you guys are more reliable than myself sifting through 97 pages of articles under the keyword "light bulb".
Anyways, I was devising an SCP that is a light bulb. I'm not sure of it's physical appearance just yet, but I will most likely make it as oddly shaped as possible (keeping in mind it still needs to be a light bulb). It's anomalies would (… predictable… ugh.) occur when given a power source. When anything with the ability to absorb light absorbs the light emitted from the bulb (eg: a human eye, or a camera), it loses the ability to see any other light. In a sense, the whole world becomes eradicated of any light other than the light from the SCP itself, but only to whatever viewed it.
In addition, objects under it's influence see under a different sort of dimension. I would keep this implied in the actual article if I write it. Humans affected by it would report seeing figures circling the edge of the light bulb's reaches, as if the light was keeping them at bay. When any object or being is kept in the "dark" (separated from the SCP's light), they would be torn to shreds. In essence, the SCP forces objects into having a perspective in a different dimension. Sound, taste, smell and touching senses would remain in our dimension. Entities in the other dimension are hostile and will dispose of whatever intruded into their world and are only kept at bay with the radiance of the SCP.
This is probably confusing and bad. Keep in mind that most of this info won't be "fed" like this to the reader in the article (eg: A D-class being violently crushed by unseen forces upon exiting the SCP's chamber).
Thank you very much if you took the time to read, and I appreciate any help you offer.
