I had more important things to do today, so I wrote this tale instead.
Enjoy.
Foundation says "come at me bro", and the Universe comes at it, bro? Intriguing. +1, in part for holding my attention through that whole thing.

It's not bad, but it feels unfocused and long-winded. The tale could have been a good deal shorter and still get the points across.
Yes, I agree with this. A great idea, and some wonderful exploration of it, but the piece itself is very bloated, and spends a lot of time spelling things out, when it could safely trust its audience to recognise the implications. Most the time while I was reading it was constant battle between 'this is a great story' and 'yes, thank you story, I realise that, you can stop belabouring the point now'.
Reads like an episode of the Twilight Zone, in a good way. +1
It was alright, but I downvoted for a couple reasons:
Ehh…. as much as I enjoy meta, this isn't doing it for me. The concept just feels too contrived. I can't say I much care for the Blank Man nor the Doctor's disappearance at the end either, and the tone skirts melodrama through the entire tale. Sorry Gargus.
I like it, personally. I especially liked the backstory/demise of SCP-173.
Twilight Zone-ish feel my ass. I read this in Rod Serling's voice. You got the feel of that wonderful show down better than any of the remake attempts did. And I love the idea of the universe cleaning up after itself…until someone, with good intentions or bad, stops it from doing so. Because by Containing them, they're Protecting the world. But to do it this way -also- Protects the problem. The universe can't break it back down. I don't see it as the universe reacting in response to some kind of challenge, rather, just that by keeping them contained and existing, well, those numbers start building up. A few 173s, or a few gifts from Wondertainment, the world could handle without destroying. But you bring in the Flesh that Hates, the Ur-Lizard, and lock them up to keep the world safe, you also keep -them- safe. And then…
Well, the world kind of goes to shit, doesn't it?
