my searching did turn up SCP-377 but that wasn't the same as the idea I had.
anyways, The idea is based around blank fortune cookies. I don't know how often it really happens but I've had a fortune cookie turn up with a blank fortune twice. The general idea is that there is a slip of fortune cookie paper that is blank. when a person breaks the cookie the blank paper is in, it's anomalous effect triggers.
I've had two basic thoughts on what would come next. not sure which would be the most interesting angle to go with.
the first: The subject would begin to gradually feel anxious about being alone throughout the rest of the day. The feeling would increase steadily until midnight. At this point, the subject would get a feeling of being followed. If the subject is left alone and unobserved at this stage he will disappear. the time it takes for this to happen would decrease as time passes. At the time of the subject's disappearance the paper would translocate it's self to another usually nearby cookie. replacing its fortune.
the second: The paper would have no apparent psychological effect in this case. at midnight, The paper translocates it's self to a usually nearby cookie, replacing it's fortune. At this time, if the paper was blank, the subject will simply disappear. If something was written on the paper, whatever was written will come true. This version would also include an incident report where a researcher attempts to exploit the cookie, inadvertently causing a brief containment breach due to the translocation effect.
Anyways this is still in the 'rough idea' zone. Any advice would be great to have.
