This is my first idea. Would making a SCP based on Typhon be ok or would it count as plagiarism or just be rubbish or be otherwise unacceptable? Thank you.
You would have to put an interesting and unique spin on the concept.
Also, that would probably be hard to pull off in any case.
Having a mythological base for your SCP object isn't bad, I mean, we have basilisks, phoenixes, sasquatches, dragons, gods and beasts from various religions, just don't make it a straight-up SCP-ification of the figure or creature. Give it a unique twist.
For instance: our "sasquatch" is an ancient, hyperadvanced race who used to rule the world
Our "phoenix" is a species of goose that freezes, shatters, and is reborn from the ice shards
Our "dragons" collect coins and live on them, but only because they eat currency.
Food for thought.
Ok I understand but I can't really think of a spin I can put on an unimaginably big monster trapped in a volcano. Is it overstepping the mark to ask for sugestions or starting points?
Chat is a great place to brainstorm.
EDIT: Also, if you ever need help with drafts/brainstorming/anything SCP-related, feel free to shoot me a PM and I can try to help you.
Here's a twist, it could be using the volcano to keep warm a fluid-filled cave underneath the main body. The cave holds sort of a biomechanical gigantic fetus. The "Typhon" is basically just a egg sac or placenta. And the baby is kicking.
