Good to see you writing again, especially stuff like this.
Main thing I got out of this was that the haplotype no longer works. Oh. Shit.
This was not what I got at all. What I got (which may or may not be way off) was that Kahn was right, and the Foundation only thinks he's wrong. This guy had a genuine religious revelation, which the Foundation (being staunchly atheistic) wrote off as a memetic effect. That would explain it more neatly than "the thing that worked before suddenly stopped working."
Good, good. Excellent characterization in just a few paragraphs.

Awesomely written. Really helps tie up the main article.
Isaac should be Jacob or Israel, though.
The fools! Can't they set aside their empiricism for an instant and realize he's right? it's the only thing that fits!
This is great. Seriously, I love this. +1.
Am I wrong to think that the saddest part of the whole story is that Judith will never read that letter? "I love you, I love you"…

I was waiting for someone to stumble on that little piece of fridge-melancholy. Yes. The possible (perhaps even probable) futility of what Dr. Kahn was did was supposed to be a big part of the emotional punch of this article.
