So, I've had this idea stuck in my head for a while now. Get things around and make repicas/life sized sculptures of some well known scips (079, 096, 173, etc.) and take them to a convention of some sort, then just leave them around for people to discover. It would be pretty fun, especially if we plan to "invade" a con dressed at mtf personel and d class. Any thoughts on the idea?
I do want a 173 costume…
Admin, SCP Wiki
I was going to say that a lot of people at conventions might mistake you for being the Amazing Living Puke Man, but then I got to thinking and decided that if there was any SCP that would be recognized anywhere as a cosplay, it would be 173.
Hm, it's a fun idea. But why?
…And how? The SCP Foundation isn't that well known so doing this type of thing wouldn't really attract much attention. Who could even make these life sized SCP's?
173 is an already made sculpture so replicating it is not recommended.
I think if this was an "all SCP" convention, it would work.
Life-size SCP replicas might be rather unwieldy, and I'm not sure how people would transport them and be willing to lug them to the convention…
Also, I'm not too sure how large the SCP fanbase is. I don't think there's a straightforward established design for MTF or D-Class personnel anyway, so what happens if no one recognizes the sculptures or the people?
Addressing the copyright issue you people seem so worried about, there have been people who have made 173 costumes before with no problem. I mean, as long as you're telling that the idea wasn't yours and you are using the idea for nonprofit entertainment purposes.
Now the fanbase isn't that big, people would mainly go what the actual fuck are these people doing and what the fuck is that? Plus, it would be a nice way to do something new for a change. Get a bit of publicity, all that jazz. T'would be fun.
The D-Class/MTF Personnel uniforms; i would say use the design for SCP: Containment Breach for the MTF guys and a design similar to that of the D-Class there. Plain orange jumpsuit that says D-Class, the number, and the foundation logo.
As for the transportation issues, it isn't that hard to move something that big made of paper mache.
And finally, for the size issue, we wouldn't be making replicas of, say, 682 (unless someone decided to dress a small lizard up as 682 and have a D-Class walk him around the con. That would be hilarious.), but moreof manageable things like, as mentioned before, 049, 096, 173, and other small (-ish) SCPs. For humanoid ones, it could be a cosplay! Oh how i would love to have an 049 Plague Doctor outfit~
Anyway, hope that may answer some questions.

That could work, but keep in mind that this wiki isn't a Containment Breach site. People who recognize elements of the game may not be familiar with or interested in the site proper.
True, true, but i would imagine that the guards would looks somewhat like that. It's up for debate, i suppose.
As for the D-Class uniforms…What else would there be for them to wear? Red polo shirt, hehehe. I mean, seeing as D-Class are usually taken from death row inmates, you would probably want them to wear something like that. Well, have them wear SOMETHING that makes them stand out from other personnel on Site in the event of a containment breach, brightly colored and indistinguishable from others and whatnot.

Who doesn't? But wouldn't most people just get confused and think its just some random plague doctor from the black plague?
Nevertheless, i would love to have one! I am a fan of old things like that from around the 16th century. All the architecture and whatnot! o3o
Okay, here's a pair of 173 costumes. I can try and find some more when i get a minute.
EDIT: Forgot the link itself, hurr durr.

I'm so sorry. NO I'M NOT.
Maybe put a 173 statue there, surround it with a few people dressed in as a D-class, a researcher or something, and stick a "Hello, my name is.." on 173? Allow for picture taking and what not. I don't think that having a large scale thing such as invading a convention with scips is a good idea, as many people might not know what the Foundation is. Something small for those handful of passersby that notice it.
The main problem would perhaps that the Foundation is too obscure and not many people recognize 173 at all. But put a statue there, and a few people will pick it out of the crowd. Researcher could give an informational thing about 173, what it does, its history.
