I have an very early idea that I am thinking about basing an SCP on, I would like to know if any of you veterans or other frequents know anything similar? What if the world fundamentally could be said to work analogously to a linear array? It would also be immutable (ie unchanging) like Parmenides anticipated.
Regardless of how qualitative state and attributes were represented, this would imply that dimensional positioning of things COULD be organized as different magnitudes of factors. Ie how any position in plane Z could be 10^10^10^10 or some other crazy magnitude while plane x would simply be magnitude 1000 or something.
So this is essentially a possible configuration we would have no idea of realising or knowing about, until certain configurations in the world happen where one dimensional aspect would be changed to the extent it infers into another's magnitude.
This is where this scp comes in, and contrary to most hyperdimensional things it doesn't work by using extreme levels of energy but rather some kind of turtle and the hare paradox; (Ie if we assume a perfect continuum in all aspects then infinities would exist, but the world isn't infinite so it gets a bit errorish as a result)
inducing the ability to continuously halve the value of a dimensional aspect such as momentum or energy to the point where it would cross over to another.
Using a configuration that produces entropy as a factor of the energy, ie something like a candle burning slower and slower, eventually the world wouldn't have any restrictions on how small any value could get so the continuum bugs out,
and an anomalous effect is had.
Perhaps the scp is a machine that could calculate such configurations, I'm thinking an aesthetic similar to the movie Pi.
The aesthetic of the anomalous effects I'm not decided yet upon however. I would strive for subtly horrifying if possible. A Horrible realisation, thingy. Like what really does happen when the universe can't make sense of an infinity but allows it and holds an constant approximation of it somehow.
