I was first introduced to the SCP Foundation a couple years ago by some co-workers. I'd often wanted to try my hand at writing either an SCP, a Foundation Tale or some other ancillary fiction but have found inspiration really hard to come by. So after a couple years of dithering, I figured I'd at least join so I can poke around the forums and, when inspiration strikes, make my own contributions to the site.
As far as what I bring to the table and what interests me, I'm a 29 year old Internet Tech Support Rep from Manitoba, Canada. The articles I tend to gravitate towards are either the 'mundane item that does something unexpected' (the drink machine is one of my personal favorites), anything that has a basis in a myth or religious context with which I'm familiar (Cain, Able, Dr. Clef's SCP-001 proposal), or anything that gives a window into the inner-workings of the Foundation (I have a weird interest in things like security protocols, site logistics, rank structure/organizational charts etc).
Writing experience is somewhat limited. My personal writing extends to a couple play-by-post games from back in college and the odd collaborative short-story. Part of the reason I've gone from lurker to member is the opportunity to improve my skill.
I'm currently playing around with an SCP in my head (only in my brain and on a notepad document on my PC so far, I ran it up the flagpole in the concepts section to see if its something worth pursuing)
Thank you for your time.
