Alrighty then, I've had an idea for what I think could be a great, fresh, SCP game idea. I'll describe it real quick and then state how I will help. So you load up the 'Standard Game' function and you find yourself on a randomized map with forests, animals, and cities. You start off with Foundation Personnel from the Engineering and Technical Services Department, who can build buildings, and an O5 Command building. You can build the following buildings:
Containment Site, in which SCPs can be contained and create Researchers.
Housing Unit, to get more population.
Misinformation Center, which keeps you from being discovered and creates Intelligence Agents.
Training Center, which creates D-Class and Agents.
Factories, which give you Amnesiacs.
There are five resources: D-Class, Amnesiacs, Espionage Points, Population, and Workforce.
D-Class are spent to discover new Special Containment Procedures, but need a Researcher to analyze experiments, or else you get no points from researching.
Amnesiacs keeps you from being discovered by GOIs or the public. If you reach zero, you lose the game. You lose Amnesiacs by capturing SCPs and sending Agents into towns.
Espionage Points are spent when you infiltrate a GOIs place to steal skips or gain information. The information that can be gained is stuff like how many soldiers they have, how many skips they have, locations of some buildings, etc.
Population is how many units you can have.
Workforce is the cost of building new buildings, can only be spent by having Foundation Personnel build something.
You are competing with GOIs to capture all skips on the map. You start out with a few in a Containment Site. If you lose all your skips you lose the game, this applies to the AI GOI players as well. Skips can be captured by sending Agents to their place and clicked on, however, you may need multiple Agents to do this. If Agents are sent into towns, a report is given about if any skips were discovered, if there are some you have the option to capture them. Some skips destroy terrain, giving clues about where they are.
Every now and then a skip can breach containment. This happens if there isn't enough research done on that Containment Site. For example, you have a Researcher there and you assign D-Class to that Containment Site. Periodically a D-Class will die, however this Containment Site gradually gains Containment Points which prevent the skip from escaping. Randomly, skips may escape and destroy their Containment Site, however, the more Containment Points a Containment Site has, the less likely it is to happen there. Spies from GOIs can cause this however. Agents may have to engage GOIs soldiers in combat.
I will help with concept art, 3D modelling, and storyline for the Campaign mode. However, I need people to help with sound effects and the game's actual code. If I need anything, it will be help with the code. 3D modelling, storyline, texturing, and concept art, I can do all of that. What I don't know how to do is code and sound effects. If someone can help me with those things, I know we can make a great game.
And yes, I have read and understand the license, there will be (if completed) a credits screen which will tribute the author of everything used.
