I may or may not plan on making this into an SCP or apart of the SCP universe but I still want opinions on this.

I just had this idea for a concept. It’s about this goat that is secretly a demon who tells anyone who crosses him of horrifying tales. The goat would ask the traveler a tale, if the traveler agrees then the goat will begin telling them the tale. As they begin the tale, the traveler will be in a trance like state and as the traveler continues to hear more of the goat’s story; they would experience terrifying effects on them.

Once the goat is done telling the story…the traveler will snap back to their senses and depending on how the story effects them; they will become terrified of what has happened to them either that or they would be dead depending on what the story's theme was.

HOWEVER
If the traveler responds with “no” to the goat’s question then the goat will walk away and leave the traveler alone.

It's a little close to a compulsion effect as is. SCPs which just make you scared and die are overdone and considered to be very cliched at this point. You'll need to find some kind of twist which makes this more interesting.

Possible ideas: the Goat's tales are invariably a useful parable for something in the listener's life. If they are able to reflect upon the moral of the story (and not get scared to death), then the story can be useful for them.

Questions to answer: does the goat display a particular preference for certain travellers or locations? Will the goat appear to groups of people, or only individuals? Do people get weirded out by it being a talking goat? Will it speak to the same person twice (potentially bringing them closer to enlightenment at greater and greater risk)?
