I want to upvote this, I really do.
But I can't.
I love the writing, the doctor's note on the procedures, the implications, everything.
The reason for my downvote is that it breaks an established canon for me. The object/containment class is just a minor quibble (I have strong opinions against breaking SEK but that's for another day), but I truly dislike a big fat stamp in the face of an established "canon" opinion. Call me a traditionalist, but I truly don't like the idea of a defined "end" to the secrecy of the Foundation. While I'm not opposed to the idea of a "public" Foundation per se, I'm opposed to making it canon in an SCP. I love the Broken Masquerade canon, and other re-imaginings of the Foundation, but as an SCP? I can't do this. While there are many SCPs like SCP-1425 or SCP-1057 that defines a GOI, or many that tweaks with the inner workings of the Foundation, this is really shattering to me, because it straight up just breaks the whole "secrecy" deal in half that was pretty much root to how the whole site started. I love the idea but I can't accept it in my headcanon. That's why I upvoted the tale but downvoted the SCP.
Meh, Djoric probably won't read this anyways, and the writing is good enough to let it stay afloat, even maybe a +100. Still, I need to let it out of my system.
EDIT: The new edit is much better, less hammy and forced. Upvoted because it's a great piece of work that doesn't break site culture apart. There's still the "containment class" thing but meh.
