This is my first SCP. I'm aware that it might not meet the standards of the project, but I hope that others can add and edit this into something really good, as I believe the idea of the 'Light Craver' to be quite interesting.

any form of EM radiation bar light
If I recall my physics classes correctly, this phrase is nonsense. All EM waves are light. Radio, microwave, infrared, ultraviolet, x-rays, gamma rays — all forms of light which just fall outside the visible spectrum.
A respectable first article.
To a physicist, "light" usually refers to any part of the EM spectrum, as you say. However, in common usage (and even among scientists in other disciplines) it refers only to the visible part of the spectrum. Since the report isn't being written for physics professors, I think the author's usage of the word is fine, though (s)he might want to amend it to "visible light" just to be on the safe side.
I wonder, how far into IR and UV wavelengths will 186 react? Or put another way, what IR and UV wavelengths are safe to flood 186 for research and study?
wouldnt this have flown off into the sun a long time ago? the concept's cool but that part is throwing me as it isnt explained.
It was found in a cave system, and presumably not exposed to sunlight during its transport to wherever it's being held.
This one doesn't make much sense to me. The containment procedures allow only magnetic imaging and physical touch but the description establishes that only visible light is a problem (good thing, or else anything with a heat signature would be boned,) so why is it that we can't use sonar or non-visible light? Also, it craves light and so it goes flying through any source of it?
With Quikngruvn's permission, I did a major rewrite of SCP-186 in an attempt to bring it up to modern standards and improve the tone of the article. Feedback is appreciated.
What scares me about this one is that if we ever let it outside it'll see the sun, and then…
This article's up for review. I want y'all to read it and rate it, and hopefully comment on it.
I don't care much for the first addendum or the audio log. I want to like the concept, but it's missing something, and I don't know what.
