I'm not sure what "Sixteenth Century fighting techniques" means in this context; is there a specific type of swordfighting that was developed in this period?

Lots. Because of woodcut and etching techniques, as well as the general increase in publishing because of the press, this was the era of the mass market fechtbuch and fighting treatise. Sliver and Meyer lived and wrote in the 16th century; Talhofffer and Fiore were already dead, but their books were widely copied and circulated with the new technologies.

Hmm, what if instead it were a sword and gauntlet that when worn…would cause the user to see fight in a battle waged during the sixteenth century ?. Only the wearer can se this, and the things he sees can harm him just as much as he can defend himself from them only with the sword and gauntlet….if they last long enough, they will see (and unluckily experienced) what killed the soldier that used to own those objects
