Hello!
I believe I have a pretty great idea about exploration log 4 of our dear SCP-087. Where would it be appropriate for me to post it once it is finished?
Thank you!

All right, after some trials and tribulations with where exactly to post this, I have posted it in the Sandbox, hopefully that is the correct place now and it won't get deleted. Here's the link! Thank you! :)

If it's a fan work/fanfiction and not meant to be critiqued for the mainsite, it would go in the Fan Work forum under a collapsible or with a sandbox link.
If you want the work to be reviewed and placed on the mainsite for voting, it would follow the usual forum/chat process.
Thank you! If I post it in the Fan Work forum, and receive positive feedback on it, I suppose I can later submit it for the main site, right?
The Fan Work forum is not for requesting feedback. Experienced reviewers typically don't look for mainsite-directed drafts there.
I posted in Fan Work, and a moderator removed my post with a note to use Sandbox, so I guess that's the answer there :) Thank you!

The moderator didn't remove the post because the content didn't belong there, they removed the post because it was so long it crowded out the Recent Posts listing and effectively was a huge eyesore to anyone checking the new forum posts. Long posts should be collapsed.
In addition to what Zyn said, if you do want to post it on the main site then the most appropriate narrative venue would be a tale.
Thank you! I thought it would be cool if it can be on URL like "http://www.scp-wiki.net/document-087-iv", but not linked to from the SCP page. Sort of an easer egg, because after reading document-087-i through iii, i tried navigating to iv and thought it would make a cool easter egg. Anyway, I am 11 pages into it already, probably will be finished in a week, then I think I'll post it in the Fan Work forum, and see where it goes from there :)

If you want the content to be an actual mainsite page, it will be subject to voting and will require a rating module. If it falls too low in votes, it will be deleted.

If you plan on posting the content to the site proper, you should probably get feedback on it as well. Although, if there isn't much enthusiasm in the Fan Work forum, then maybe don't post it to the mainsite.
Thank you! This will be my first time posting anything on here, so I want to do it right. Also, I've put a lot of effort in, it's about 20 pages long, so I hope to receive a lot of critical response on it!
Additionally, what I didn't understand is: if everything goes right and it is upvoted and accepted, would I be able to choose the URL? Is the URL just "scp-wiki.net" - slash - the title of the work? If so, if I merely call it "document-087-iv", it should inhabit the intended URL?

Yes, though the url is effectively chosen before people vote on a page.

Typically, yes. Page urls can always be edited anyway, so I wouldn't worry too much about this.
