This is an idea for my first SCP and I wanna take my time and do my best. Any advice is helpful. Thank you!
I trimmed your thread summary above, since it was taking up a lot of space on the forum listing. Try to keep thread descriptions and titles under 7 lines so you don't visually crowd out other people's threads. ~Zyn
So when I first began to learn about SCPs, I had an idea for one and would like to learn the best way to flesh it out. My idea was a being that throughout history has appeared at the cusp of a major historical event, such as the turning point of a battle that decides a major war or a coup that puts an historically important regime into power. It simply appears, writes in it's book, and vanishes just after the event ends. I had the idea of it being passive to anything around it. However, if a person touches it, they are "written out of history" so to speak, meaning they are erased from the memory of everyone and any physical trace of them is gone as well.
My biggest concern is containment issues. I thought maybe the SCP could have discovered the book or tablet that the creature uses the document events and keeps an eye on it until the being arrives and the book teleports to it. The SCP would then track the book and learn where the being is and why that event is significant.
Please give me any feedback you can
