SCP Foundation

I'm asking this since I have a draft in the works and I wanted to make a post on the forum here for some help. I'm trying to conceptualize an SCP that's an aquatic reptile from the Mesozoic era. The biggest problem however, is that I'm trying to make it not only an animal or creature, but I'm trying to make it more SCP-appropriate as in making it more 'out of the ordinary'. Would really like to see some suggestions.

It sounds like you're coming at this the wrong way - taking a thing and saying "how can I make this an SCP" usually doesn't work because it doesn't end in a place of originality. There's only so many ways you can monstrify animals.

Starting with what you want to have happen in the article and working backwards from there could tell you what anomalous properties the creature needs to have. What interesting things are you going to have it do? A species of pleiseisaur that hunts by pulling people into their bathroom sinks would be written differently than a group of them that are intelligent and determined to get to outer space and heist a shuttle from NASA. What tone are you going for and what kind of action will you show the creatures engaging in?

By the way, your idea immediately made me think of this article, in which the object is a regular pleiseisaur species at the center of an interesting and unique plot.
