Molon labe! WOO7!
I'm skeptical that a nuclear detonation can be covered up as a tornado in a sugar factory, though. Change to a thermobaric explosive, maybe?
MOAB? Fuel-Air Bomb? Possibilities are endless without resorting to God's Candle. I loved the tone of this SCP, though.
…which are, in fact, thermobaric weapons…
The point is to dissociate the metal parts from each other, right? Couldn't you try to trick it into eating C4 first? Or some kind of metal-eating acid. Or oxidation catalyst.
Or C4 in an iron container of metal-eating acid or oxidation catalyst. Mwahahaha…
Anyone wanna make a comic book of this one? It's, um, for my son…
Seriously, though, excellent read. Nice to see a bit more action in these reports.
Yeah, in retrospect I shouldn't have made it a nuclear weapon.
But as with all of my SCP's, the explosions/aftermaths are based on real events - there was a sugar factory that exploded in [REDACTED] a few years ago, which in my mind is where this happened.
Thanks for all your comments!
The incident log needs a slight edit to account for the recent deletion of SCP-193.
For the record, I really dislike this piece. It reads less like an SCP report and more like a pithy excuse to write a LOLBADASS log, which was cool back in 2008 when we had like thirty articles and didn't know any better but just doesn't suit the tone of the site now.
I suggest this be rewritten as a Foundation tale, and replaced here with a rewritten real article.
Umm…if anybody were to rewrite this, could they mention the striking similarity of his metal-absorbing powers to this?
Would it seem better if said metal-eating monster was really just an ordinary guy affected by this "condition" so badly that he becomes a whole new creature altogether, and that in the middle of this twisted hulk of raging metal and devastation you have a whimpering, tortured human soul?
EDIT: Spotted a blatant error: "█████ ████████ [01-5281] speculates that further irradiation of the remains may prevent any possible regeneration by the remains of SCP-744."
The proposer of the idea to irradiate the SCP to destroy it has the designation of 01-5218. That makes him a lowly level-1 maintainance guy/gal, and his/her so-called proposal would most definitely be disregarded.
