Reading the lolFoundation canon, and how it's essentially the "goofy apocalypse" universe, I got a meta idea; specifically, a skip describing a phenomenon where cities are spontaneously replaced with their lolFoundation counterparts for a week or so. Given what happens in the lolFoundation, the canon's actually competent, less loony Foundation seriously panics whenever it happens, but regularly contain the problem… because the locals have caught on to what their canon is. For example, a mother blithely accepting her son being eaten by a cognitohazard, because "we were bit parts anyway; he'll be back when it escapes again." Needless to say, the Foundation gets really, really weirded out, especially given how ambivalent the locals are to their presence (on the one hand, reality's about to distort again, on the other the Foundation is about to do something badass - in their experience).
