Okay, here's my rough draft for the Cliché Con. I know there is no chance whatsoever that I will win (not enough name recognition), but I figured it would be fun anyways. I'm going for cliche anomaly 2 ("Spooky scary murder monster(s)!"), since I've always had a soft spot for monster SCPs - even if very few of them are actually good - and they seem to have fallen out of favor. I intentionally left the draft short, and I'm generally pretty good about SPaG stuff, so this should be quick.
A few specific questions/concerns I have:
- Full disclosure: This SCP concept was difficult to get feedback on. I was able to get some feedback, but it was more on the side of "it'll depend on how you write it" than "this can work" or "this probably won't work". I've done what I can with it, but just so you know.
- Is the story clear? I originally had the journal explain the entire story, but decided that making it more vague would probably make it more interesting (and more brief). If you don't get it, go ahead and ask.
- I have no medical experience whatsoever. I know that the maintenance process should not work at all (I admit I'm doing a lot of "It's anomalous" handwaving in that section), but is the Foundation's treatment of -2 good? If it isn't, what could I add to make it more feasible?
- I deliberately kept the physical description of -1 and -2 brief because, frankly, that isn't where the meat is. Is there anything I should have that I may have skipped over?
- What would a good name for this be? I am admittedly pretty terrible at coming up with names.1
As always, show no remorse. I want to be able to look back on this with pride.
