The skip is of a tree(s) that grow organs at the end of their branches. These organs look weird and rotten almost. Wrinkly? Anyway, these 'hearts' are covered in and out with tick-like bugs.
Now here is where things get stranger. The organs can be transplanted into a human to replace the heart. The tick bugs then start to act like white and normal blood cells, distributing oxygen and nutrients or whatever. The experience is unpleasant to feel bugs moving inside you. The subject may then go through some… changes. Painful ones. They lose their hair and nails at first, but then their skin start to look leathery, rough. The skin feels a little tight. Teeth may fall out.
Another thing I almost forgot to mention. When a subject gets a cut or limb severed, the ticks go to where it is cut, forming a ugly, bumpy clot of sorts with their bodies and larvae.
I thought of a back story for this. I thought it be from the time of the Daeva or some ancient tribe that used these trees to enhance. I think I may go with the latter, some tribe. Anyway, these plants were presumed extinct until discovered by the Nazis in OBSKURA. They sought to perhaps enhance those that suffer from heart failure to be useful or whatever. They get disturbing results from trying to recreate a better procedure by mixing other anomalous stuff (Sarkic, maybe?).
I intend for a somewhat of a disgusting skip. What do you think about it?
