I'm intrigued by the idea of SCP's that seem like the author is simply writing out their fantasies, but then take a turn and are much different from what everyone expects. I want to make one of these SCP's, and I've decided on a particular fantasy: furries turning into their fursonas.
The way this SCP would go, is there would be an advertisement that rather rarely appears online, and only appears to furries. This ad would promote new "studies into the splicing of human and animal genes", and the ability to "turn you into your fursona". Should the person click on the ad, they will be sent to a website from which they could send the ones behind the operation a reference sheet of their fursona, pay a couple hundred dollars, and after about a month, be sent a syringe in the mail. In the syringe is, you guessed it, a furry-ify substance. If someone injects themselves with the furry-ify stuff, then over the course of 2 days, they will turn into their fursona. They will stay like this for about a month before they become even more animal-like, and after about a week, they become feral animals, except they're larger, stronger, and extremely aggressive. The SCP would be keter-class, obviously.
Is this a good idea? I'm really not sure if it would be good, but I know for a fact it would be fun to write.
(If you're a furry, I don't mean for this to be mean. I'm one of you, after all.)
This seems to be an intriguing idea. I'd suggest exploring the type of websites the ad shows up on, and what a 'fursona' is. One thing people do when writing clear ideas their own head, something for you to avoid, is getting too fixated on the fantasy part while you should be focused on the foundation part. Remember, this is a professional article, not a rambling about how cool something is.
Also, the syringe should increase their most outstanding personality traits to becoming a predator. For example,
Seductive: acting cute, only to devour those who come close.
Intelligent: assassinating people using tech or drugs, then eating them.
Brawny/Athletic: chasing people down, ripping through doors at high speeds.
Thank you for the critique! However, I think I might have explained the idea poorly judging by the critique you've given.
I could hardly call it my fantasy; sure, I've imagined what life could be like if I was my fursona (given that I wasn't abducted by the government), but I'm fine with my current life, and thus, the article would definitely be pretty professional.
Also, the main point of this SCP is supposed to be along the lines of "You wanted to be an animal? So be it", so after the complete animal transformations, they aren't supposed to retain any glimpse of humanity in them, so having any sort of intelligence or even personality traits kind of goes against that.
Sorry if I sound bitchy. I am genuinely glad you decided you take time to help me with my idea.
Ok, sorry. I think I misunderstood a bit. What I think is to make sure that the transformation is interesting, nor just oh they're an evil animal after a month of being a good animal. SCPs are supposed to convey a feeling so I think it would be good to portray this as evil in disguise, something with temporary benefits then death.
