If you do not read the Guide to Newbies before applying, your application will be denied.
When finished, continue to the next tab.
Do not write your app in-character. Do not pretend that SCPs are real.
Do not misspell "SCP".
Do not give us joke answers.
Please apply in English only.
USERNAME & ACCOUNTS
Only one person should use one wikidot account. No shared accounts.
No usernames with "SCP" or "O5" or "Class D" or an SCP number.
To change your username: Go here and click on Edit next to your username. You can only change your username twice per account, so be careful.
Do not tell us your username in your application. We know it. (Seriously, you CAN get denied for this.)
Do not tell us your real name. We don't need to know it. (Though you can use your real name for your username.)
You need Age, Location, Reason for Joining, and Our Secret Passcode.
AGE? This wiki and chat contain themes and discussions not suited for younger audiences. This wiki also expects its members to conduct themselves in a mature and adult-like manner. Therefore, you must be 15 or older to join.
LOCATION? We will accept any real answer. "South America" or "Buenos Aires, Argentina" are fine. "Earth" or "[REDACTED]" are not okay. Do NOT tell us your street address!
REASON FOR JOINING? This can be anything. Please use good spelling and grammar.
OUR SECRET PASSCODE? Yep. We have a secret passcode. We change it regularly. Sometimes daily. How can you find the passcode? Read the Guide for Newbies and follow the secret instructions. For the love of god do NOT tell us YOUR password.
When you are ready, fill out the form below.
You need to have a Wikidot.com account and be signed to apply for membership.
You can ask staff any questions you like about your application in public staff chat (#site17). Any staff member can look over your app and tell you if it's good. If you haven't received a Wikidot PM that you've been either accepted or denied after 72 hours, you can also pop in and ask an admin about your application. Note: please do be patient. Our administrators are not available 24/7, and it usually takes at least 1-2 days before applications are accepted.
Applications disappear from our site forever once we click Accept or Deny.
Your application will never be denied for your gender identity, sexuality, race, ethnicity, or anything else like that. (Usually, we won't even know these details, because we don't ask you for them.)
As soon as you click the button to apply, it will change to a message telling you that you have already applied. This is normal. To reapply, you must delete your old application via 'my account'.
Please note that the application process may take up to 3 days.
When you get in, don't forget to run your SCPs past the forums or chat for review, before posting it to the site.
If you get denied, continue to the next tab.
Crap! I Got Denied! What Do I Do?
You may always reapply.
Sometimes we will ask you to wait before applying again. If you haven't been told to wait or that you can't apply again, then you can go ahead and reapply.
There is always a reason why we've denied you!
To find out why you were denied, we strongly encourage you to re-read this whole page, and the Guide for Newbies, to try to find out why you were denied.
Very likely, you were denied because you didn't read the Guide for Newbies and find the passcode.
If you still don't know why you were denied…
Send a private message to any active administrator (listed here) to ask for the reason.
If you send a message, tell us exactly what you said in your app. We probably won't remember! We get lots of applications. But if you tell us exactly what you said, any administrator can immediately tell you why you were denied.
Please note: This IS what we do for the site. This is our job. There is no reason to apologize for messaging us, or to think you're wasting our time. You're fine.
Often, your denial message will tell you what the problem is. Take a look at it.
In some cases, you might have received a PM in your wikidot inbox from an administrator as well. So take a look in your inbox too, just in case.
You may also try to find a staff member in the public staff chat (#site17) to ask any and all questions about your app that you'd like.
TO REAPPLY: Go up to 'My Account.' Click on 'Messages.' Click on 'Applications.' Click to 'Withdraw' your application for this site. Apply as normal.
